In this hands-on cooking class, you'll be guided in preparing classic dumplings and more from start to finish. Begin by exploring the essential element of umami with a selection of soy sauces from Japan, Hong Kong, Taiwan and China.
Then, from kneading the dough to pleating the edges, you’ll prepare dumplings from scratch with a juicy, vegetable filling and a vibrant dipping sauce. Next, use your umami knowledge to beautifully braise tofu in soy sauce. Round out your dinner party feast with a traditional red bean dessert.
Please note that dumpling skins are made with organic all-purpose flour and gluten-free wrapper substitutions are not available. Guests with gluten intolerance or gluten-free dietary preferences cannot be accommodated. Additionally, other guests may be working with and consuming meat during the session. Chef Eddie will prepare vegetarian dumplings in a separate pot to ensure no cross-contamination. Guests may contact Chef Eddie in advance if anyone in their party would prefer pork-based stuffing or a pork main course.
This class is suitable for ages 15+ with an adult present. Children under 17 must be accompanied by a paying adult. Class price is per person.
Guests are welcome to bring wine and beer to enjoy during the class.
