Description

These amazing homemade dinner rolls are a cinch to make! From our Betty Crocker Cookbook, 13th edition, these 5-ingredient rolls spread with garlic butter are on the table in just over an hour. They are the perfect side bread for your holiday table but are easy enough for any meal.

Ingredients:

  • 1 cup sour cream
  • 1 tablespoon sugar
  • 1 package (1/4-oz) fast-acting dry yeast (2 1/4 teaspoons)
  • 2 1/2 to 3 cups Bisquick™ Original Pancake and Baking mix
  • 2 tablespoons garlic and herb butter spread

Directions:

  1. In large microwavable bowl, microwave sour cream on High about 1 minute, stirring after 30 seconds, or until instant-read thermometer inserted in sour cream reads 110°F to 115°F. Stir in sugar and yeast until well blended.
  2. Add 2 1/2 cups of the baking mix to sour cream mixture; stir until dough pulls away from sides of bowl, adding additional baking mix if needed until dough forms a sticky ball. Place dough on work surface sprinkled lightly with baking mix. Knead 5 minutes or until dough is smooth and elastic.
  3. Spray bottom and sides of 8- or 9-inch square pan with cooking spray. Divide dough into 12 equal pieces. Shape each piece into a ball; place in pan. Cover loosely with plastic wrap; let rise in warm place about 30 minutes or until rolls have almost doubled in size.
  4. Heat oven to 350°F. Uncover rolls. Bake 15 to 20 minutes or until golden brown. Spread tops of warm rolls with garlic and herb butter spread. Serve warm.
