Chicken Casserole

Description
Why are chicken casseroles so comforting? From the tender chicken and other filling ingredients to the creamy “gravy”, these meal-in one dishes are filling, soothing, and easy to make. Our chicken casserole recipe is quick to pull together and only takes a handful of ingredients. All you’ll need is chicken, a couple of cans of cream of chicken soup, cheddar cheese, bread crumbs and butter to create a creamy homestyle casserole with that desired buttery and crunchy breadcrumb topping.
Ingredients:
- 3 cups shredded or chopped cooked chicken
- 2 cans (10.5 oz each) condensed cream of chicken soup
- 2 cups shredded cheddar cheese (8 oz)
- 3 cups (from 2 boxes) Progresso™ Plain Panko Crispy Bread Crumbs
- 6 tablespoons butter
Directions:
- Heat oven to 350°F.
- Evenly place chicken in bottom of ungreased 13x9-inch (3-quart) baking dish.
- Spoon dollops of the condensed soup over the chicken, then using a spatula or the back of a large spoon, spread the soup evenly over the chicken.
- Sprinkle cheese evenly over the soup.
- Place bread crumbs in a medium bowl. In small saucepan, melt butter over low heat. Pour melted butter over bread crumbs; stir until crumbs are evenly coated with butter.
- Sprinkle bread crumb mixture over cheese.
- Bake for 30 to 35 minutes or until the cheese is melted, the bread crumbs are golden brown and the casserole is heated through. Let stand 10 minutes before serving.
